Why we started
A gift, not a toy.
Most first-birthday presents end up forgotten by toddlerhood. Plastic that breaks, books that tear, toys that lose their charm by the next season.
We wanted to build the opposite. Something made for one specific child — sewn with their name, designed to be held in tiny hands, and built to last long enough to be passed to a younger sibling, then a cousin, then maybe even the next generation.
Every Little One Press book is a keepsake in disguise. It just happens to also be the most fun a one-year-old will have all year.
The way they’re made
Slow. By hand. One at a time.
There’s no factory. No assembly line. No press of a button.
Every book is cut, layered, and sewn by hand from premium wool-blend felt, with non-toxic dyes and child-safe materials we’d trust with our own kids. Names are hand-cut from felt letters and stitched onto the cover — never printed, never ironed on.
It takes us 7–14 days to finish each one. We could go faster. We choose not to. Because the things you keep for years should be made like they’re meant to be kept.
